We also favored Moses and Aaron 114 And saved them and their people from great distress, 115 And We succoured them so that they became overcomers. 116 And We vouchsafed unto the twain a Book luminous. 117 and guided them upon the Straight Path. 118 And We perpetuated (praise) to them among the later generations. 119 Peace be unto Moses and Aaron! 120 Verily, thus do We reward the Muhsinun (good-doers - see V. 2:112). 121 Verily! They were two of Our believing slaves. 122 Elijah too was one of the messengers. 123 when he spoke [thus] to his people: "Will you not remain conscious of God? 124 Will ye cry unto Baal and forsake the Best of creators, 125 "Allah, your Lord and the Lord of your forefathers?" 126 But they called him a liar, therefore they shall most surely be brought up. 127 Except the sincere and devoted Servants of Allah (among them). 128 We left him thus to be succeeded by a group [of followers] among the following generations -- 129 Peace be on Ilyas. 130 Verily, thus do We reward the Muhsinun (good-doers, who perform good deeds totally for Allah's sake only - see V. 2:112). 131 he was among Our believing servants. 132 And verily, Lout (Lot) was one of the Messengers. 133 Behold, We delivered him and his adherents, all 134 Except an old woman who was one of those who stayed behind. 135 Then We destroyed the others. 136 and you pass by them in the morning 137 And at night; do you not then understand? 138
