Didst thou (O Muhammad) observe him who turned away, 33 who at first gave a little, then later held back? 34 Has he knowledge of the unseen, so that he sees? 35 Has not he been informed of the contents of the Book of Moses 36 and Abraham, who paid his debt in full? 37 That no one who carries a burden bears another's load; 38 And that there is not for man except that [good] for which he strives 39 That his endeavours will be judged, 40 whereupon he shall be requited for it with the fullest requital; 41 That to thy Lord is the final Goal; 42 and that He it is Who causes people to laugh and to cry, 43 and that it is He who makes to die, and that makes to live, 44 And that He createth the two spouses, the male and the female, 45 out of a [mere] drop of sperm as it is poured forth, 46 That the second creation is incumbent on Him; 47 and that it is He alone who frees from want and causes to possess; 48 And that He only is the Lord of the star Sirius? 49 It was He who totally destroyed the former 'Ad 50 And (the tribe of) Thamud He spared not; 51 And the people of Noah before. Indeed, it was they who were [even] more unjust and oppressing. 52 and the Subverted City He also overthrew, 53 And covered them by that which He covered. 54 About which of the bounties of your Lord can they persistently dispute? 55 This is a warning among the warnings of yore. 56 The Day of Resurrection draws near, 57 There shall be none besides Allah to remove it. 58 At this discourse then marvel ye? 59 Why do you laugh rather than weep? 60 While ye amuse yourselves? 61 But fall ye down in prostration to Allah, and adore (Him)! ۩ 62
