The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
When the sun is wrapped up [in darkness] 1 the stars are made to fade away, 2 when the mountains shall be set moving, 3 And when the pregnant she-camels shall be neglected; 4 And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together; 5 And when the seas shall be filled, 6 souls are reunited with their bodies, 7 And the little girl buried alive is asked 8 for what crime she had been slain, 9 when the records of men's deeds are laid open, 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped, 11 when Hell is set ablaze, 12 when Paradise is brought close: 13 (Then) every soul will know what it hath made ready. 14 So, I call the receding stars to witness, 15 stars which are visible during the night 16 and the night as it darkly falls, 17 and the morn as it breathes. 18 behold, this [divine writ] is indeed the [inspired] word of a noble apostle, 19 one mighty and held in honour with the Lord of the Throne; 20 Obeyed there [in the heavens] and trustworthy. 21 Your Companion is not mad, 22 And indeed he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) saw him [Jibrael (Gabriel)] in the clear horizon (towards the east). 23 He is not chary of making public what is unknown. 24 Nor is it the word of a satan accursed. 25 where then are you going? 26 Verily, this (the Quran) is no less than a Reminder to (all) the 'Alamin (mankind and jinns). 27 (With profit) to whoever among you wills to go straight: 28 but you shall not, unless Allah wills, the Lord of all the Worlds. 29
