The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Woe to Al-Mutaffifin [those who give less in measure and weight (decrease the rights of others)], 1 those who demand a full measure from others 2 But when they measure out to others or weigh out for them, they are deficient. 3 Do they not think that they will be resurrected 4 on a great day 5 The day all mankind will stand before the Lord of all the worlds? 6 No indeed, the Book of the immoral is in Sijjeen. 7 And what do you know, how (wretched) the Sijjeen is! 8 It is [their destination recorded in] a register inscribed. 9 Woe, that Day, to the deniers, 10 who belied the Day of Recompense! 11 And none gives the lie to it but every exceeder of limits, sinful one 12 And when Our revelations are rehearsed unto him, he saith: fables of the ancients! 13 They will never have faith. In fact, their hearts are stained from their deeds. 14 Indeed! On that Day a barrier will be set between them and their Lord, 15 Then they will indeed burn in Hell. 16 They will then be told: "This is what you had denied." 17 But, the Book of the righteous is in the 'Illiyoon. 18 And what do you know what the Illiyoon are! 19 It is a Book inscribed, 20 Those who are drawn near (to Allah) shall witness it. 21 Most surely the righteous shall be in bliss, 22 On adorned couches, observing. 23 You can trace on their faces the joy of their bliss. 24 They shall be given to drink of a wine that is sealed, 25 Its seal is upon musk; and for this should those who crave be eager. 26 It (that wine) will be mixed with Tasnim. 27 The spring from which drink the ones close to Allah. 28 BEHOLD, those who have abandoned themselves to sin are wont to laugh at such as have attained to faith 29 And whenever they passed by them, used to wink at each other (in mockery); 30 And when they returned to their own folk, they returned jesting; 31 And whenever they saw them, they would say, "Behold! These are the people truly astray!" 32 though they were not sent to be their keepers -- 33 So today those who believe shall laugh at the unbelievers; 34 Reclining on couches, looking on. 35 Have those who deny the truth [not] been paid back for their deeds? 36
