The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ When the sky is rent asunder, 1 and gives ear to its Lord, and is fitly disposed; 2 and when the earth is stretched out 3 And has cast out all that was in it and became empty, 4 and obeys its Lord as it must, 5 O man! Verily, you are returning towards your Lord with your deeds and actions (good or bad), a sure returning, so you will meet (i.e. the results of your deeds which you did). 6 So whoever is given his record of deeds in his right hand – 7 shall have an easy reckoning 8 And he shall go back to his people joyful. 9 But as for those whose Book of records will be given behind their backs, 10 Will pray for death, 11 And will go into the blazing fire. 12 Once, he lived joyfully among his family 13 and surely thought he would never return (to his Lord). 14 Yes! Verily, his Lord has been ever beholding him! 15 I swear by the twilight; 16 And the night and all it gathers, 17 or by the moon when it is full, 18 [That] you will surely experience state after state. 19 What is the matter with them that they do not accept faith? 20 and when the Koran is recited to them that they do not prostrate! ۩ 21 Instead, the unbelievers reject it, calling it a lie. 22 but God knows best whatever they accumulate in their hearts. 23 Wherefore announce thou unto them a torment afflictive. 24 Except for those who believe and do righteous deeds. For them is a reward uninterrupted. 25
