And the dwellers in Al-Hijr denied (Our) messengers. 80 We showed them miracles but they ignored them. 81 They were hewing the mountains into houses, therein dwelling securely; 82 and so the blast [of Our punishment] overtook them at early morn, 83 Therefore their earnings did not in the least benefit them. 84 We did not create the heavens and the earth, and what is between them except in truth. The Hour is sure to come, therefore, forgive them with a gracious pardon. 85 Your Lord is indeed the Creator of all, the All-Knowing. 86 And We have bestowed upon thee the Seven Oft-repeated (verses) and the Grand Qur'an. 87 Do not strain your eyes towards the worldly benefits We have bestowed on some of them, nor grieve on their account. Lower your wing of mercy for the believers 88 and say: "Behold, I am indeed the plain warner [promised by God]! 89 As We have sent down on the dividers, (Quraish pagans or Jews and Christians). 90 Who have made the Quran into parts. (i.e. believed in a part and disbelieved in the other). 91 Therefore, by your Lord, We shall question every one of them. 92 Of what they used to do. 93 Therefore declare openly what you are bidden and turn aside from the polytheists. 94 Indeed We suffice you against these mockers. 95 Who make [equal] with Allah another deity. But they are going to know. 96 We do indeed know how thy heart is distressed at what they say. 97 But hymn the praise of thy Lord, and be of those who make prostration (unto Him). 98 And serve thy Lord till the Inevitable cometh unto thee. 99
