S (Saad)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Sad. CONSIDER this Qur'an, endowed with all that one ought to remember! 1 No, the unbelievers exalt in their division. 2 How many a generation We destroyed before them, and they cried out when it was no longer the time for escape! 3 They were surprised that one of them had come to them as warner; and the unbelievers said: "He is a deceiving sorcerer. 4 What, has he made the gods One God? This is indeed a marvellous thing.' 5 And the leaders among them went about (saying): "Go on, and remain constant to your aliha (gods)! Verily, This is a thing designed (against you)! 6 Never did we hear of [a claim like] this in any faith of latter days! It is nothing but [a mortal man's] invention! 7 “Is the Qur’an which is sent to him, among us?” In fact they are in a doubt concerning My Book; in fact, they have not yet tasted My punishment. 8 Or have they the treasures of the mercy of thy Lord,- the Exalted in Power, the Grantor of Bounties without measure? 9 Or have they the dominion of the heavens and the earth and all between? If so, let them mount up with the ropes and means (to reach that end)! 10 The army is defeated as (were) the confederates. 11 The people of Noah, Ad and the dominating Pharaoh had rejected Our revelations. 12 And the Thamud, and the people of Lut, and the dwellers of the wood; these were the confederates. 13 Each of them who rejected the Messenger become subject to Our punishment. 14
