The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
When the sun shall be folded up, 1 when the stars shall be thrown down, 2 and when the mountains are made to vanish, 3 When the she-camels, ten months with young, are left untended; 4 And when the wild beasts are gathered 5 And when the seas are set afire. 6 when the souls are coupled (to their body), 7 And the little girl buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was killed, 9 And when the Records of Account are laid bare. 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped, 11 when Hell is set ablaze, 12 when Paradise is brought close: 13 A soul will [then] know what it has brought [with it]. 14 No! I swear by the slinkers, 15 Those that run [their courses] and disappear - 16 And the Night as it dissipates; 17 and the first breath of morning. 18 Verily this is the word of a most honourable Messenger, 19 The mighty, the honoured in the presence of the Lord of the Throne. 20 Obeyed one; then trustworthy. 21 And your companion is not gone mad. 22 Surely he beheld Him on the clear horizon. 23 And this Prophet is not miserly upon the hidden. (Allah gave the knowledge of the hidden to the Holy Prophet – peace and blessings be upon him.) 24 And it is not the word of an accursed Satan; 25 Whither, then, will you go? 26 It is naught but a Reminder unto all beings, 27 Unto whomsoever of you willeth to walk straight. 28 But ye shall not will except as Allah wills,- the Cherisher of the Worlds. 29
