T H (Taa Haa)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Ta Ha 1 We have not revealed unto thee (Muhammad) this Qur'an that thou shouldst be distressed, 2 Except as a reminder for one who fears. 3 A revelation from He who created the earth and highest heavens, 4 the Merciful willed to the Throne. 5 To Him belongs all that is in the heavens and the earth, all that lies between them, and lies below the earth. 6 And if you speak aloud - then indeed, He knows the secret and what is [even] more hidden. 7 Allah - there is no deity except Him. To Him belong the best names. 8 And has the story of Moses reached you? - 9 When he saw a fire and said to his family, "Stay here; indeed, I have perceived a fire; perhaps I can bring you a torch or find at the fire some guidance." 10 But when he came to the fire, a voice was heard: "O Moses! 11 "Verily I am thy Lord! therefore (in My presence) put off thy shoes: thou art in the sacred valley Tuwa. 12 And I have chosen you, so listen to what is revealed: 13 I Am the only God. Worship Me and be steadfast in prayer to have My name always in your mind. 14 "Verily the Hour is coming - My design is to keep it hidden - for every soul to receive its reward by the measure of its Endeavour. 15 Let him who does not believe in it and follows his lust not turn your thought away from it, lest you are ruined. 16 "Now, what is this in thy right hand, O Moses?" 17 He said, "It is my staff; I lean upon it, and I bring down leaves for my sheep and I have therein other uses." 18 "Throw it down, O Moses," said (the Voice). 19 Moses threw it on the ground and suddenly he saw that it was a moving serpent. 20 "Catch it," said He, "and have no fear; We shall revert it to its former state. 21 Put your hand under your armpit: it will come out [shining] white, without any blemish. This shall be another sign. 22 That We may show you [some] of Our greater signs. 23 Go to Firon, surely he has exceeded all limits. 24
