Say thou: I am but warner, and there is no god but Allah, the One, the Subduer. 65 the Sustainer of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, the Almighty, the All-Forgiving!" 66 Say: It is a message of importance, 67 "From which ye do turn away! 68 I had no knowledge of the Highest Chiefs when they disputed; 69 had it not been revealed unto me [by God] - to no other end than that I might convey [unto you] a plain warning. 70 When your Lord said to the angels: "I am going to create a man from clay; 71 So when I have made him complete and breathed into him of My spirit, then fall down making obeisance to him. 72 The angels prostrated themselves, all of them. 73 Saving Iblis; he was scornful and became one of the disbelievers. 74 Said Allah, “O Iblis! What prevented you from prostrating before one whom I have created with My hands*? Have you become proud or were you haughty from the beginning?” (Used as a metaphor). 75 (Iblis) said: "I am better than he: thou createdst me from fire, and him thou createdst from clay." 76 "Begone! You are accursed: 77 and My rejection shall be thy due until the Day of Judgment!" 78 He said: my Lord! respite me till the Day whereon they are raised up. 79 [Allah] said, "So indeed, you are of those reprieved 80 “Until the time of the known day.” 81 He said: "By Your authority, I will lead them astray, 82 Except, among them, Your chosen servants." 83 [Allah] said, "The truth [is My oath], and the truth I say - 84 Most certainly will I fill hell with thee and such of them as shall follow thee, all together!" 85 Say (O Muhammad, unto mankind): I ask of you no fee for this, and I am no simulating. 86 This is only a warning for mankind. 87 You will come to know its truth in time." 88
