Thamud (people also) belied the warnings. 23 They said, "Should we follow only one person among us. We shall be clearly in error and in trouble (if we do so). 24 Has the [Divine] message been revealed to him alone of all of us? No, he is a boastful liar." 25 Tomorrow they will come to know, who is the liar, the insolent one! 26 “We shall send a she-camel to test them, therefore O Saleh, wait and have patience.” 27 And inform them that the water is shared between them, each [day of] drink attended [by turn]. 28 But they called their companion, so he took (the sword) and slew (her). 29 and how severe was the suffering which I inflicted when My warnings were disregarded! 30 Indeed, We sent upon them one blast from the sky, and they became like the dry twig fragments of an [animal] pen. 31 And certainly We have made the Quran easy for remembrance, but is there anyone who will mind? 32 The folk of Lot rejected warnings. 33 Verily We! We sent upon them a gravel-storm save the household of Lut; them We delivered at early dawn. 34 As grace from Us. Thus We reward him who giveth thanks. 35 Lot warned them against Our torment, but they persistently disputed it. 36 They even asked of him his guests for an ill purpose. Then We blinded their eyes (and said): Taste now My punishment after My warnings! 37 And assuredly there met them early in the morning a torment settled. 38 We said, "Suffer Our torment of which you were warned". 39 And We have indeed made the Qur'an easy to understand and remember: then is there any that will receive admonition? 40

Notes and Instructions
When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
