Animals (Al-An 'aam)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
ALL PRAISE BE to God who created the heavens and the earth, and ordained darkness and light. Yet the unbelievers make the others equal of their Lord. 1 It is He Who has created you from clay, and then decreed a term for you; and it is a fixed promise before Him, yet you still doubt! 2 He is God in the heavens and the earth; He knows your secrets, and what you publish, and He knows what you are earning. 3 But never did a single one of the signs of their Lord reach them, but they turned away therefrom. 4 And now they reject the truth when it reaches them: but soon shall they learn the reality of what they used to mock at. 5 See they not how many of those before them We did destroy?- generations We had established on the earth, in strength such as We have not given to you - for whom We poured out rain from the skies in abundance, and gave (fertile) streams flowing beneath their (feet): yet for their sins We destroyed them, and raised in their wake fresh generations (to succeed them). 6 Had we sent down unto thee (Muhammad) (actual) writing upon parchment, so that they could feel it with their hands, those who disbelieve would have said: This is naught else than mere magic. 7 They have said, "Why has not an angel come to him (Muhammad)?" Had We sent an angel to them, the matter would have inevitably been out of their hands, and they would have been given no more time. 8 And if We had made him angel, We would certainly have made him a man, and We would certainly have made confused to them what they make confused. 9 And already were messengers ridiculed before you, but those who mocked them were enveloped by that which they used to ridicule. 10
