The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Successful indeed are the believers 1 who in their prayers are humble 2 And they who turn away from ill speech 3 and at almsgiving are active 4 And those who of their private parts are guards. 5 except with their wives, and what their right hands possess -- for then they are free from blame, 6 (but whosoever seeks after more than that, those are the transgressors) 7 And those who of their trusts and covenant are keepers. 8 And those who of their prayers are observant. 9 Those are the heirs 10 that will inherit the paradise; [and] therein shall they abide. 11 And indeed We created man (Adam) out of an extract of clay (water and earth). 12 Then made him a drop of fluid in a secure shelter. 13 and then We create out of the drop of sperm a germ-cell, and then We create out of the germ-cell an embryonic lump, and then We create within the embryonic lump bones, and then We clothe the bones with flesh - and then We bring [all] this into being as a new creation: hallowed, therefore, is God, the best of artisans! 14 After that, at length ye will die 15 and then, behold! you shall be raised from the dead on Resurrection Day. 16 And We created above you seven ways, and We were not heedless of creation. 17 We sent down water from the sky in due measure, and lodged it in the earth, and We are able to take it all away. 18 Then We cause to grow thereby gardens of palm trees and grapes for you; you have in them many fruits and from them do you eat; 19 The tree that grows on Mount Sinai yields oil and seasoning for those who eat. 20 You have a lesson in livestock. We provide you with drink from what is in their bellies, and you have many other benefits from them; some of them you eat, 21 And on them and on the ship ye are carried. 22
