۞ Have they never journeyed through the land and seen what was the end of those who have gone before them? They were stronger than themselves in might and left firmer traces in the earth, but Allah seized them for their sinning, and they had none to protect them from Allah. 21 That was because there came to them their Messengers with clear evidences, proofs and signs but they disbelieved (in them). So Allah seized them with punishment. Verily, He is All-Strong, Severe in punishment. 22 Of old We sent Moses, with Our Signs and an authority manifest, 23 To Firon and Haman and Qaroun, but they said: A lying magician. 24 Now, when he came to them in Truth, from Us, they said, "Slay the sons of those who believe with him, and keep alive their females," but the plots of Unbelievers (end) in nothing but errors (and delusions)!... 25 And Fir'awn said: let me alone, that I may slay Musa, and let him call upon his Lord. Verily I fear that he may change your religion or that he may cause to appear in the land corruption. 26 Musa (Moses) said: "Verily, I seek refuge in my Lord and your Lord from every arrogant who believes not in the Day of Reckoning!" 27
