Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By those that winnow with a winnowing 1 and those that bear the burden [of the rain], 2 And (the ships) that float with ease and gentleness; 3 and the partitioners, 4 Verily the promise made to you is true: 5 The Judgement will indeed take place. 6 The heavens webbed-with-tracks is witness 7 surely, you are in different sayings, 8 From which only he turns who is turned away. 9 Woe to the liars 10 Who are in a gulf (of ignorance) neglectful; 11 They ask: When is the day of judgment? 12 It will be the Day whereon in the Fire they will be burned 13 'Taste your trial! This is that you were seeking to hasten.' 14 Indeed, the righteous will be among gardens and springs, 15 receiving their reward from their Lord. They had been righteous people before the Day of Judgment. 16 they used to sleep but little by night, 17 And in the hour of early dawn, they (were found) praying for Forgiveness; 18 and sharing their possessions with the beggars and the deprived. 19 And on the earth are signs for the certain [in faith] 20 and in your selves; what, do you not see? 21 And in the heaven is your sustenance and what you are threatened with. 22 for, by the Sustainer of heaven and earth, this [life after death] is the very truth - as true as that you are endowed with speech! 23
