The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the heaven breaks apart. 1 and gives ear to its Lord, and is fitly disposed; 2 and when the earth is leveled, 3 and casts forth whatever is in it, and becomes utterly void, 4 And obeys its Lord and it must. 5 Human being, you strive hard to get closer to your Lord, and so you will certainly receive the recompense (of your deeds). 6 Whoever is given the Record in his right hand 7 he will in time be called to account with an easy accounting, 8 And will return unto his folk in joy. 9 But as for he who is given his record behind his back, 10 He surely will invoke destruction 11 They will suffer the heat of hell fire. 12 Behold, [in his earthly life] he lived joyfully among people of his own kind 13 Never thinking he will return. 14 Yea indeed! His Sustainer did see all that was in him! 15 So I swear by the twilight glow 16 And [by] the night and what it envelops 17 and the moon when it grows full, 18 that you shall surely ride from stage to stage. 19 What is wrong with them that they do not believe? 20 and when the Koran is recited to them they do not bow? ۩ 21 Nay! those who disbelieve give the lie to the truth. 22 and God knows very well what they are secreting. 23 (Muhammad), tell them that they will all suffer a painful torment 24 except for those who believe and do good deeds. Theirs shall be an unending reward. 25
