The Comet (Al-Taareq)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the Sky and the Night-Visitant (therein);- 1 And what shall make thee know that which the night-comer is? 2 It is the star that shines with a piercing brightness -- 3 [for] no human being has been left unguarded. 4 So let man consider of what he was created. 5 He is created from a drop emitted- 6 issuing between the loins and the breast-bones. 7 Now, verily, He [who thus creates man in the first instance] is well able to bring him back [to life] 8 On the Day when man's deepest secrets shall be put to the test 9 when he will be helpless, with no supporter. 10 By the sky (having rain clouds) which gives rain, again and again. 11 And the earth which splitteth (with the growth of trees and plants) 12 Verily, it is a discourse distinguishing. 13 and it is certainly not a jest. 14 Indeed, they are planning a plan, 15 and I too am devising a guile. 16 so bear with those who deny the truth, and let them be for a little while. 17
