Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
HAS THERE COME unto thee the tiding of the Overshadowing Event? 1 Some faces, that Day, will be humiliated, 2 troubled and tired as a result of their deeds in the past. 3 they shall enter a burning Fire 4 and will be made to drink from a fiercely boiling spring. 5 no food for them but cactus thorn 6 which will neither nourish nor satisfy hunger. 7 [Other] faces, that Day, will show pleasure. 8 With their effort [they are] satisfied 9 in a Garden on high, 10 where they will hear no idle talk. 11 Wherein is a gushing spring, 12 Therein will be Thrones (of dignity), raised on high, 13 and goblets set at hand, 14 and cushions ranged, 15 and carpets spread out. 16 Do they not look at the Camels, how they are made?- 17 And how the heaven was raised up, 18 And the hills, how they are set up? 19 And the earth – how it has been spread out? 20 Therefore remind, you are only a Reminder. 21 Thou art not one to manage (men's) affairs. 22 But whoso is averse and disbelieveth, 23 Him Allah shall torment with the greatest torment. 24 Indeed, to Us is their return. 25 Then indeed, upon Us is their account. 26
