3/4 Hizb 45
< random >
And indeed, [it was for this reason that] Noah cried unto Us - and how excellent was Our response: 75 We rescued him and his people from the greatest affliction 76 And We made his descendants those remaining [on the earth] 77 and We established for him a good name among posterity. 78 Peace on Noah among all men. 79 Verily, thus do We reward the doers of good 80 Verily he was of Our bondmen believing. 81 Then We did drown the others. 82 ۞ Abraham was on the self-same way (as Noah). 83 When he came to his Lord with a sound heart 84 When he said to his father (paternal uncle) and his people, “What do you worship?” 85 Do you want to worship false idols as your lords besides God? 86 What think you then of the Lord of all Being?' 87 Then he looked at the stars, looking up once, 88 And he said: "Verily, I am sick (with plague. He did this trick to remain in their temple of idols to destroy them and not to accompany them to the pagan's feast)." 89 And they turned their backs on him and went away. (The pagans thought he would transmit the disease). 90 Then he turned aside to their gods secretly and said: What! do you not eat? 91 What is the matter with you, why do you not speak?” 92 Then did he turn upon them, striking (them) with the right hand. 93 Then came the others to him hastening. 94 He said: worship ye that which ye carve. 95 And Allah has created you and what you make. 96 They said, "Construct for him a furnace and throw him into the burning fire." 97 They wanted to harm him, but We humiliated them all. 98 And [then] he said, "Indeed, I will go to [where I am ordered by] my Lord; He will guide me. 99 “My Lord! Give me a meritorious child.” 100 We gave him the good news that he would have a patient, forbearing son. 101 and when he had reached the age of running with him, he said, 'My son, I see in a dream that I shall sacrifice thee; consider, what thinkest thou?' He said, 'My father, do as thou art bidden; thou shalt find me, God willing, one of the steadfast.' 102 And when they had both submitted and he put him down upon his forehead, 103 We called to him, "O Abraham, 104 You have fulfilled your dream." Thus do We reward the good. 105 It was certainly an open trial. 106 And We ransomed him with a mighty sacrifice, 107 And We left for him among the later folk (the salutation): 108 "Peace and salutation to Abraham!" 109 Thus do We reward the doers of good 110 He is truly among Our faithful creatures. 111 And [in time] We gave him the glad tiding of Isaac, [who, too, would be] a prophet, one of the righteous; 112 And We blessed him and Isaac. And of their seed are some who do good, and some who plainly wrong themselves. 113
