ART THOU NOT aware of how far they who call God's messages in question have lost sight of the truth? 69 those who reject the Book and that with which We sent Our messengers shall soon know -- 70 When the yokes (shall be) round their necks, and the chains; they shall be dragged along- 71 In boiling water; they will then be ignited* in the fire. (Like fuel – see verse 2:24) 72 and then they will be asked, "Where are those whom you associated [with God]?" 73 Apart from God?" They will answer: "They have left us in the lurch and fled. In fact it was nothing that we prayed to before." That is how God sends the unbelievers astray. 74 “This is the recompense of your being happy upon falsehood in the earth, and the recompense of your conceit.” 75 Enter Hell now to abide in it. How woeful is the abode of those who wax proud! 76 So be patient, (O Prophet). Surely Allah's promise is true. Whether We show them a part of the woeful consequences against which We warn them (while you are still in their midst) or We recall you (from this world) before that, eventually it is to Us that they shall be brought back. 77 And indeed, [O Muhammad,] We sent forth apostles before thy time; some of them We have mentioned to thee, and some of them We have not mentioned to thee. And it was not given to any apostle to bring forth a miracle other than by God's leave. Yet when God's will becomes manifest, judgment will [already] have been passed in all justice, and lost will be, then and there, all who tried to reduce to nothing [whatever they could not understand]. 78
