Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By (the winds) that scatter dust. 1 Then by oath of those which carry the burdens. 2 And those that glide with ease (upon the sea) 3 and the partitioners, 4 indeed, that which you are promised is true, 5 and the Judgement shall doubtlessly take place. 6 By the beautiful heavens, 7 surely you are at variance (about the Hereafter); 8 Only those who are destined to revert, are reverted from it. 9 Cursed be the liars, 10 who flounder in the depths of ignorance. 11 They ask, "When will the Day of Judgement come?" 12 On the Day of Judgment they will be punished by the fire 13 and will be told, "Suffer the torment which you wanted to experience immediately". 14 [But,] behold, the God-conscious will find themselves amid gardens and springs, 15 receiving what their Lord will give them because before this they were gooddoers. 16 They were in the habit of sleeping but little by night, 17 and would pray for forgiveness from their innermost hearts; 18 and the beggar and the outcast had a share in their wealth. 19 And on the earth are signs for the certain [in faith] 20 and also in yourselves. Can you not see? 21 And in the heaven is your provision, and that which you are promised. 22 So by oath of the Lord of the heavens and the earth, this Qur’an is the Truth, in the same language that you speak. 23
