The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By those who drag forth to destruction, 1 and those that blow gently, 2 and float [through space] with floating serene, 3 And who quickly present themselves. 4 And by those angels who arrange to do the Commands of their Lord, (so verily, you disbelievers will be called to account). 5 On the day when the first trump resoundeth. 6 There will follow it the subsequent [one]. 7 Hearts, that Day, will tremble, 8 Their looks will be downcast. 9 They say (now): "What! shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state? 10 even after we are fragmented bones' 11 They will say: 'Then we are returned lost' 12 [But,] then, that [Last Hour] will be [upon them of a sudden, as if it were] but a single accusing cry 13 When, behold, they find themselves over the earth alive after their death, 14 Has there come to you the story of Musa (Moses)? 15 How his Lord called him in the holy vale of Tuwa, 16 Saying: go thou unto Fir'awn; verily he hath waxen exorbitant. 17 "And say to him, 'Wouldst thou that thou shouldst be purified (from sin)?- 18 that I might guide you to your Lord, so that you fear (Him)." 19 Then did (Moses) show him the Great Sign. 20 In response, he denied and disobeyed. 21 Then turned he away in haste, 22 Then he gathered his people and cried aloud, 23 Saying, "I am your Lord, Most High". 24 So Allah, seized him with punishment for his last [i.e. his saying: "I am your lord, most high") (see Verse 79:24)] and first [(i.e. his saying, "O chiefs! I know not that you have a god other than I" (see Verse 28:38)] transgression. 25 Verily in this is an instructive warning for whosoever feareth (Allah). 26
