The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
I CALL THE night to witness when it covers over, 1 And by the day as it appears in brightness; 2 By Him Who hath created the male and the female, 3 Indeed your efforts differ. 4 As for him who giveth and is dutiful (toward Allah) 5 for those who spend for the cause of God, 6 We shall surely ease him to the Easing. 7 But he who does not give and is unconcerned, 8 And denied the best matter, 9 We will indeed make smooth for him the path to Misery; 10 His wealth will not avail him when he falls into ruin. 11 It is indeed for Us to show the way, 12 And lo! unto Us belong the latter portion and the former. 13 I therefore warn you of the fire that is ablaze. 14 whereat none but the most wretched shall be roasted, 15 even he who cried lies, and turned away; 16 He will be far away from the most pious. (The first Caliph S. Abu Bakr Siddiq) 17 [He] who gives [from] his wealth to purify himself 18 not as payment for favours received, 19 Except the seeking of the pleasure of his Lord, the Most High. 20 He verily will be content. 21
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
