Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the heaven splits open. 1 And when the stars become dispersed, 2 When the seas are poured forth, 3 And when the graves are ransacked, 4 every human being will [at last] comprehend, what he has sent ahead and what he has held back [in this world]. 5 O man! what hath beguiled thee concerning thy Lord, the Bountiful, 6 who created you, formed you and proportioned you? 7 Into whatsoever form He will, He casteth thee. 8 No indeed; (the fact is that) you deny the Reckoning, declaring it a lie; 9 But verily over you (are appointed angels) to protect you,- 10 Kind and honourable,- Writing down (your deeds): 11 Who know (all) that ye do. 12 Behold, [in the life to come] the truly virtuous: will indeed be in bliss, 13 whereas, behold, the wicked will indeed be in a blazing fire 14 roasting therein on the Day of Doom, 15 And never therefrom will they be absent. 16 And what can make you know what is the Day of Recompense? 17 How then can you comprehend what the Day of Judgement is? 18 It will be a Day when no human being shall be of the least avail to any other human being, God [alone] will hold command on that Day. 19
