The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
I CALL THE night to witness when it covers over, 1 and the day as it rises bright! 2 Consider the creation of the male and the female! 3 your striving is indeed to different ends! 4 As for him who gives (in charity) and keeps his duty to Allah and fears Him, 5 And believeth in goodness; 6 We shall ease the way of fortune for him. 7 And as for him who stinteth and is heedless, 8 And denied the best matter, 9 We will ease him toward difficulty. 10 And his substance will avail him not when he perisheth. 11 Lo! Ours it is (to give) the guidance 12 and to Us belongs the Hereafter as well as the present world -- 13 Now I have warned you of a Fire that flames, 14 None except the most wicked will enter it. 15 The one who denied and turned away. 16 The pious ones will be safe from this fire 17 Who giveth his wealth that he may grow (in goodness). 18 and confers no favor upon anyone for recompense 19 Except the seeking of the pleasure of his Lord, the Most High. 20 surely, he shall be satisfied. 21
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
