(Pharaoh) said unto the chiefs about him: Lo! this is verily a knowing wizard, 34 "His plan is to get you out of your land by his sorcery; then what is it ye counsel?" 35 They said, "Postpone [the matter of] him and his brother and send among the cities gatherers 36 Who shall bring unto thee every knowing wizard. 37 So the wizards were gathered together at a set time on a day appointed. 38 And it was said unto the people: are ye going to assemble. 39 Belike we may follow the magicians if they are the winners? 40 Now when the sorcerers came, they said unto Pharaoh: "Verily, we ought to have a great reward if it is we who prevail. 41 "Yes," he replied. "You 'will be among the honoured." 42 Moses said unto them: Throw what ye are going to throw! 43 So they cast down their cords and their rods and said: By Firon's power, we shall most surely be victorious. 44 Therefore Moosa put forth his staff – so it immediately began swallowing all their fabrications. 45 The magicians fell down in adoration 46 saying, "We believe in the Lord of the Worlds, 47 “The Lord of Moosa and Haroon.” 48 Said Firaun, “You accepted faith in him before I permitted you! He is indeed your leader who taught you magic; so now you will come to know; I swear, I will certainly cut off your hands and your feet from alternate sides, and crucify all of you.” 49 They said: "No harm! Surely, to our Lord (Allah) we are to return; 50 We are eager that Our Lord should forgive us our offenses, for we are the first of the believers' 51
