The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Woe to those who give less [than due], 1 Who, when they take a measure from people, take in full. 2 But if they measure unto them or weight for them, they cause them loss. 3 What! Do they not expect that they will be raised? 4 For a tremendous Day - 5 The Day when (all) mankind will stand before the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists)? 6 Nay, but the record of the vile is in Sijjin - 7 Would that you knew what Sijin is!? 8 A Register inscribed. 9 Woe, that Day, to those who deny [(Allah, His Angels, His Books, His Messengers, the Day of Resurrection, and Al-Qadar (Divine Preordainments)]. 10 Those who deny the Day of Recompense. 11 And none will deny it, except every transgressor, rebel. 12 who, when Our verses are recited to him, says: “Mere tales of olden times!” 13 Nay, but their hearts are corroded by all [the evil] that they were wont to do! 14 Therefore they will be screened off from their Lord that day, 15 They will suffer the heat of fire 16 Then it will be said: 'this is that which ye were wont to belie.' 17 Nay, verily the record of the Righteous is (preserved) in 'Illiyin. 18 And what will explain to thee what 'Illiyun is? 19 A Register inscribed. 20 To which bear witness those Nearest (to Allah). 21 Verily, Al-Abrar (the pious who fear Allah and avoid evil) will be in delight (Paradise). 22 On thrones, watching. 23 You will find in their faces the brightness of bliss. 24 They will be given to drink pure sealed wine. 25 The seal thereof will be of musk. And to this end let the aspirers aspire 26 And it is mixed with Tasneem. 27 A fountain from which drink they who are drawn near (to Allah). 28 Verily! (During the worldly life) those who committed crimes used to laugh at those who believed. 29 When passing by them, they would wink at one another 30 And when they returned to their own followers they returned exulting. 31 On seeing the believers, they would say, "These people have gone astray". 32 Yet they were not sent as watchers over them. 33 But this Day (the Day of Resurrection) those who believe will laugh at the disbelievers 34 seated upon their couches, they are looking around. 35 Are not the disbelievers paid for what they used to do? 36
