Then when the sent ones entered unto the household of Lut. 61 he said, "You are strangers [to me]." 62 They said: "Nay, we have come to you with that (torment) which they have been doubting. 63 "And we have brought to you the truth (the news of the destruction of your nation) and certainly, we tell the truth. 64 "So leave with your family late in the night, yourself remaining in the rear, and let none turn back to look, and go where you will be commanded." 65 And We decreed for him that commandment, that the last remnant of those should be cut off in the morning. 66 And the people of the city came rejoicing. (* To the house of Prophet Lut.) 67 [Lout (Lot)] said: "Verily! these are my guests, so shame me not. 68 "And fear Allah and disgrace me not." 69 They said, "Have we not forbidden you from [protecting] people?" 70 He said: Here are my daughters, if ye must be doing (so). 71 By your life, (O Prophet), they went about blindly stumbling in their intoxication. 72 So they were seized by the mighty blast at break of day; 73 and We turned those [sinful towns] upside down, and rained down upon them stone-hard blows of chastisement pre-ordained. 74 Surely, in that there are signs for those who contemplate. 75 surely it is on a way yet remaining; 76 surely in this there is a sign for those who believe. 77 And the dwellers of the thicket also were most surely unjust. 78 So, We took vengeance on them. They are both on an open highway, plain to see. 79
