۞ Gather all the wicked together and their comrades, and those they had worshipped 22 apart from Allah, and direct them to the path of Hell, 23 And detain them, for they will be questioned." 24 "'What is the matter with you that ye help not each other?'" 25 They will submit to questioning then, 26 They will turn to each other saying, 27 saying: 'You used to come to us from the right hand' 28 The oppressors will say, "Rather, you [yourselves] were not believers, 29 We had no power over you. You were a rebellious people, 30 But now our Sustainer's word has come true against us [as well]: verily, we are bound to taste [the fruit of our sins]. 31 we perverted you, indeed, we were perverts' 32 On that day they will all share the torment. 33 That is how We deal with sinners. 34 When they were told, "There is no deity but God," they turned away with disdain, 35 and would say: "Shall we, then, give up our deities at the bidding of a mad poet?" 36 No, indeed, he has brought the truth, and confirmed the Messengers. 37 (They will be told): “You shall taste the grievous chastisement. 38 and not be recompensed, except according to what you were doing.' 39 But the sincere (and devoted) Servants of Allah,- 40 For them there will be a known provision (in Paradise). 41 Fruits. And they will be honoured 42 In Gardens of Delight. 43 They will be seated upon couches set face to face; 44 A bowl shall be made to go round them from water running out of springs, 45 White, a pleasure unto the drinkers. 46 but not harmful or intoxicating. 47 And with them will be mates of modest gaze, most beautiful of eye, 48 As if they were eggs carefully protected. 49 They will turn to each other and ask questions. 50 Said one of the speakers: "I had a friend 51 “Who used to tell me, ‘Do you believe it is true?’ – 52 What, when we are dead and become dust and bones, shall we indeed be requited?" 53 Then he will say, "Shall we look for him?" 54 He therefore looked down and saw him amidst the blazing fire. 55 He will say to his friend in hell, "By God, you almost destroyed me. 56 If not for the favor of my Lord, I would have been of those brought in [to Hell]. 57 "Is it (the case) that we shall not die, 58 except for our first death? Are we not going to be punished? 59 Surely this is the supreme triumph. 60 and for the like of this let the workers work. 61 So is this welcome better, or the tree of Zaqqum? 62 We have indeed made that a punishment for the unjust. 63 Verily it is a tree that springeth forth in the bottom of Flaming Fire. 64 and its fruits are like devils' heads. 65 and they eat of it, and of it fill their bellies, 66 Then after it, indeed for them is the drink of boiling hot water. 67 Then surely their return is towards hell. 68 They indeed found their fathers astray, 69 So they in their footsteps are rushing. 70 And indeed most of the men of old went astray before them; 71 We had certainly sent warners to them. 72 See how those who were warned met their end! 73 Except the chosen slaves of Allah (faithful, obedient, and true believers of Islamic Monotheism). 74
