Has there come to you information about the honored guests of Ibrahim? 24 When they came in unto him and said: Peace! he answered, Peace! (and thought): Folk unknown (to me). 25 Then he went back to his family and brought a fat roasted calf 26 And placed it before them.. he said, "Will ye not eat?" 27 [And when he saw that the guests would not eat,] he became apprehensive of them; [but] they said, "Fear not" - and gave him the glad tiding of [the birth of] a son who would be endowed with deep knowledge. 28 (Sarah) his wife came with an exclamation and clasped her face, and said: 'Surely, I am a barren old woman' 29 They said, “This is how your Lord has decreed; indeed He only is the Wise, the All Knowing.” 30 ۞ Said Ibrahim, “What is your task, O the sent angels?” 31 They replied: 'We are sent to a sinful nation, 32 To send down upon them stones of clay, 33 Marked in the presence of your Lord for the transgressors." 34 So We brought the believers out of that they were in. 35 And We found not within them other than a [single] house of Muslims. 36 and left therein a sign for those who fear the painful punishment. 37 And in Musa (Moses) (too, there is a sign). When We sent him to Fir'aun (Pharaoh) with a manifest authority. 38 but he turned his back with his Assembly, saying: 'He is (either) a sorcerer or a mad man' 39 So We seized him and his armies, and threw them into the sea, for he was worthy of blame. 40 There is also evidence of the Truth in the story of Ad whom We struck with a violent wind 41 that left nothing that it came upon without reducing it to rubble. 42 There is also evidence (of the Truth) in the story of the Thamud, who were told to enjoy themselves for an appointed time. 43 But in their pride they turn away from the commandment of their Lord and the thunderbolt struck them whilst they were looking; 44 they could not stand up again, nor could they defend themselves. 45 (So had We destroyed) the people of Noah before them: They were surely a sinful people. 46
