[AND] the people of Lot gave the lie to [one of God's] message-bearers 160 when their brother Lot said to them, 'Will you not be godfearing? 161 I am for you a faithful Messenger, 162 be, then, conscious of God, and pay heed unto me! 163 "And no reward whatever do I ask of you for it: my reward rests with none but the Sustainer of all the worlds. 164 “What! Among all the creatures, you commit the immoral acts with men?” 165 "And leave those whom Allah has created for you to be your mates? Nay, ye are a people transgressing (all limits)!" 166 'Lot' they replied, 'if you do not desist, you shall be thrown out' 167 He said: "I am, indeed, of those who disapprove with severe anger and fury your (this evil) action (of sodomy). 168 My Lord, save me and my family from their evil doings." 169 So We delivered him and his followers all, 170 except an old woman who stayed behind, 171 then We destroyed the others. 172 and We sent upon them a rain, an evil rain that fell on those who had been warned. 173 Surely in this there is a sign: but most of them would not believe: 174 And indeed your Lord – only He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 175
