The people of the Wood too called the messengers liars. 176 When Shu'aib said to them: "Will you not take heed? 177 Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy messenger. 178 So fear Allah, and obey me. 179 I ask of you no wage for this; my wage is only with the Lord of the Worlds. 180 ۞ Give full measure, and be not of those who cause others to lose. 181 “And weigh with a proper balance.” 182 And defraud not people of their things, and commit not corruption on the earth. 183 And fear Him who created you and all the earlier people." 184 They said: "You are no more than one of those who have been bewitched, 185 for thou art nothing but a mortal like ourselves! And behold, we think that thou art a consummate liar! 186 Drop down on us lumps from heaven, if you are one of the truthful' 187 Shuayb said: "My Lord knows well all what you do." 188 In response they denied him – therefore the punishment of the day of the tent* seized them; that was indeed a punishment of a Great Day. (The clouds formed a tent and rained fire upon them). 189 Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers. 190 And most surely your Lord is Mighty, the Merciful. 191
