The Comet (Al-Taareq)

17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)

In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

By the heavens and that which comes in the night -- 1 And what could make thee conceive what it is that comes in the night? 2 (It is) the piercing star. 3 For every soul there is a watcher. 4 Let the human being reflect that from what he has been created. 5 He is created from a water dripping, 6 Emerging from between the backbone and the ribs. 7 He certainly has the power to bring him back to life. 8 On the day when hidden thoughts shall be searched out. 9 Then will he have no might nor any helper. 10 So I call to witness the rain-producing sky, 11 And the earth which splitteth (with the growth of trees and plants) 12 That this (Qur'an) is a decisive word 13 And it is not a frivolity. 14 Indeed the disbelievers carry out their evil schemes. 15 and I am devising guile. 16 so bear with those who deny the truth, and let them be for a little while. 17

Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
