Seest thou not those that dispute concerning the Signs of Allah? How are they turned away (from Reality)?- 69 those who reject the Book and that with which We sent Our messengers shall soon know -- 70 When shackles will be on their necks and also chains; they will be dragged. 71 Into boiling water, then in the fire shall they be burned; 72 And then they will be asked: "Where now are those [powers] to which you were wont to ascribe divinity 73 "In derogation of Allah?" They will reply: "They have left us in the lurch: Nay, we invoked not, of old, anything (that had real existence)." Thus does Allah leave the Unbelievers to stray. 74 That is because you exulted in the land unjustly and because you behaved insolently. 75 Enter the gates of hell to live therein forever. How terrible is the dwelling of the arrogant ones. 76 (Muhammad), exercise patience. The promise of God is true. Whether We let you witness the suffering with which they were threatened or because of your death (you do not see them suffering,), We shall still punish them when they return to Us (on the Day of Judgment). 77 And We have already sent messengers before you. Among them are those [whose stories] We have related to you, and among them are those [whose stories] We have not related to you. And it was not for any messenger to bring a sign [or verse] except by permission of Allah. So when the command of Allah comes, it will be concluded in truth, and the falsifiers will thereupon lose [all]. 78
