The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the Event (the resurrection) comes 1 no soul will deny its coming. 2 abasing, exalting, 3 When the earth shall be shaken to its depths, 4 And the mountains shall be crumbled to atoms, 5 and become like scattered dust particles, 6 And you (all) will be in three kinds (i.e. separate groups). 7 Companions of the Right (O Companions of the Right!) 8 And (then) those on the left hand; what of those on the left hand? 9 And those Foremost (in Faith) will be Foremost (in the Hereafter). 10 Those! they shall be the brought nigh, 11 They will dwell in the Gardens of Bliss: 12 A throng of the ancients, 13 and a lesser number from the later generations. 14 On couches in wrought with gold. 15 Reclining on them, facing each other. 16 Youths of never-ending bloom will pass round to them 17 With cups, and jugs, and a glass from the flowing wine, 18 a drink by which their minds will not be clouded nor will it cause drunkenness; 19 And fruits such as they choose, 20 and with the flesh of any fowl that they may desire. 21 And pure, beautiful ones, 22 Like unto preserved pearls. 23 as reward for their deeds. 24 Therein they shall hear no idle talk, no cause of sin, 25 Nought but the saying: peace! peace! 26 The companions of the right - what are the companions of the right? 27 (They will be) among Lote-trees without thorns, 28 Among Talh trees with flowers (or fruits) piled one above another,- 29 and continuous shade, 30 near to flowing water 31 And fruit in plenty, 32 Whose season is not limited, nor (supply) forbidden, 33 And [with them will be their] spouses, raised high: 34 Surely We have made them to grow into a (new) growth, 35 And made them virgins. 36 chastely amorous, 37 For the sake of the companions of the right hand. 38
