The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
56 verses, revealed in Mecca after Unknown Person (Al-Muzzammil) before The Key (Al-Faatehah)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Cloaked one, 1 Arise and warn, 2 proclaim the greatness of your Lord, 3 thy robes purify 4 And uncleanness do shun, 5 And bestow not favour that thou mayest receive more. 6 And for the sake of your Lord, patiently endure. 7 When the trumpet is sounded,. 8 Truly, that Day will be a Hard Day. 9 and it will not be easy for the unbelievers. 10 Leave Me with him whom I alone have created, 11 and to whom I have granted resources vast, 12 And sons dwelling in his presence, 13 And made things easy for them. 14 Yet he desires that I should give more. 15 Never will he receive more. He has been hostile to Our revelations. 16 and I shall constrain him to a hard ascent. 17 Surely he reflected and guessed, 18 and thus he destroys himself, the way he meditates: 19 Again accursed be he, how evilly did he decide! 20 He then dared to lift his gaze. 21 and then he frowns and glares, 22 then he retreated and grew proud 23 and said: “This (Qur'an) is merely a sorcery of yore; 24 this is nothing but the word of a mere mortal!” 25 I will surely roast him in the Scorching. 26 and what will teach thee what is Sakar? 27 It leaves nothing, nor does it spare; 28 It glows and burns the skin. 29 and it has nineteen angelic keepers. 30 We have appointed only angels to be masters of the Fire, and their number We have appointed only as a trial for the unbelievers, that those who were given the Book may have certainty, and that those who believe may increase in belief, and that those who were given the Book and those who believe may not be in-doubt, and that those in whose hearts there is sickness, and the unbelievers, may say, 'What did God intend by this as a similitude?' So God leads astray whomsoever He will, and He guides whomsoever He will; and none knows the hosts of thy Lord but He. And it is naught but a Reminder to mortals. 31

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
