Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the winds (or angels or the Messengers of Allah) sent forth one after another. 1 Which then blow violently in tempestuous Gusts, 2 Then by oath of those that lift and carry. 3 by (the angels) who make a clear distinction between right and wrong 4 And those winds that bring down the remembrance. 5 To excuse or to warn, 6 Assuredly, what ye are promised must come to pass. 7 So when the stars are made to lose their light, 8 When the heaven is cleft asunder; 9 when the mountains shall be scattered 10 And when the time of the Noble Messengers arrives. 11 For what Day are these signs postponed? 12 To the Day of Decision. 13 And what will make you comprehend what the day of decision is? 14 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 15 Have We not destroyed the earlier generations? 16 So shall We make later (generations) follow them. 17 In this wise We do with the culprits. 18 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 19 Created We you not of water despicable, 20 which We then let remain in [the womb's] firm keeping 21 for a term pre-ordained? 22 We determined; excellent determiners are We. 23 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 24 Have We not caused the earth to hold within itself 25 the living and the dead? 26 place on it high mountains and provide you with fresh water? 27 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 28 "Go to what you used to deny; 29 Proceed to a shadow [of smoke] having three columns 30 unshading against the blazing flame 31 Surely it sends up sparks like palaces, 32 which seem as though they are yellow-coloured camels. 33 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 34 They will not be able to speak that day, 35 Nor shall they be permitted so that they might excuse themselves. 36 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 37 Such is the Day of Decision. We will gather you with the ancients. 38 If you are cunning, then try your cunning against Me! 39 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 40
