Have you seen him who turns his back, 33 Gives a little, then hardens (his heart)? 34 Does he possess the knowledge of the unseen, thus, he sees (all things)? 35 Or has he never yet been told of what was [said] in the revelations of Moses, 36 And of Ibrahim (Abraham) who fulfilled (or conveyed) all that (what Allah ordered him to do or convey), 37 Namely, that no bearer of burdens can bear the burden of another; 38 and that man shall have nothing but what he has striven for, 39 and that his work is surely seen 40 whereupon he shall be requited for it with the fullest requital; 41 that all things in the end shall return to God; 42 And that He it is who maketh laugh, and maketh weep, 43 that it is He who causes death and gives life; 44 And that He (Allah) creates the pairs, male and female, 45 From a seed when lodged (in its place); 46 and that it is for Him to grant the second life, 47 It is He who grants people temporary and durable wealth. 48 It is He who is the Lord of Sirius. 49 And that He did destroy the Ad of old 50 And Thamud (people). He spared none of them. 51 and before them the nation of Noah, they exceeded in evil and were insolent. 52 And the overthrown cities did He overthrow, 53 and caused them to be covered with that which He covered them with. 54 Which then of thy Lord's benefits wilt thou doubt? 55 This is a warner, of the warners of old. 56 The Hour that was to come draws ever nearer. 57 and none but Allah can avert it. 58 Do you then marvel at this discourse, 59 Will you laugh at it rather than weep? 60 while you make merry? 61 Rather prostrate yourselves before Allah and serve Him. ۩ 62
God the Almighty always says the truth.
