Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ Nay! I swear by the day of resurrection. 1 But nay! I call to witness the accusing voice of man's own conscience! 2 Does man (a disbeliever) think that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 Yea, verily. We are Able to restore his very fingers! 4 Yet man wants to deny what is ahead of him: 5 He asks: When is the day of resurrection? 6 So when vision is dazzled 7 And the moon will be eclipsed, 8 And the sun and the moon shall be joined. 9 on that Day will man exclaim "Whither to flee?" 10 No, there is no refuge. 11 For on that Day the refuge shall be to your Lord. 12 On that day, people will be informed of all that they had done and all that they were supposed to do. 13 He shall be a clear proof against himself, 14 And even if he presents all the excuses he has, none will be listened to. 15 (O Prophet), do not stir your tongue hastily (to commit the Revelation to memory). 16 Surely it is for Us to have you commit it to memory and to recite it. 17 When We recite it, follow its recitation (by Us). 18 We shall be responsible for its explanation. 19 Human beings certainly do not want to pay much attention to the Quran. In fact, they love the worldly life 20 and neglect the life to come. 21 Some faces on that Day will be fresh and resplendent, 22 Looking at their Lord (Allah); 23 And how many faces on that Day will be woe-begone 24 knowing that a crushing calamity is about to befall them. 25 But, when (the soul) reaches the collar bone 26 And it is said: Who will be a magician? 27 and he knows that it is the time of parting; 28 And agony is heaped on agony; 29 To your Lord then will be the driving. 30
