The News (Al-Naba')
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej) before The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ Whereof do they question one another? 1 About the awesome tidings [of resurrection] 2 concerning which they are in disagreement! 3 By no means! anon they shall know. 4 Nay, again, but they will come to know! 5 Did We not make the earth a bed? 6 And the mountains as stakes? 7 And We created you in pairs, 8 And made your sleep [a means for] rest 9 And made the night as clothing 10 And made the day as a means of subsistence? 11 And We have built above you seven strong (heavens), 12 (the sun) as a shining torch 13 From the rain clouds We send waters pouring down in abundance, 14 That We may produce therewith corn and vegetables, 15 And gardens of luxurious growth? 16 Verily the Day of Sorting out is a thing appointed, 17 The Day that the Trumpet shall be sounded, and ye shall come forth in crowds; 18 and the heaven shall be opened, and become gates, 19 and the mountains move, and vaporize. 20 Certainly Hell lies in wait, 21 A home for the rebellious. 22 They will abide therein for ages. 23 Nothing cool shall they taste therein, nor any drink. 24 But boiling and intensely cold water, 25 Requital corresponding. 26 For lo! they looked not for a reckoning; 27 and they absolutely belied Our verses, 28 but We have recorded everything in a Book. 29 'Taste! We shall not increase you except in punishment' 30

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
