The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
When the sun shall be wound round, 1 The stars turn dim and scatter, 2 And when the mountains are made to pass away, 3 when ten-month pregnant camels are left untended, 4 And when wild animals are herded together. 5 when the seas shall be set boiling, 6 And when the souls are paired 7 And when the girl-child that was buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was slain, 9 and when the scrolls [of men's deeds] are unfolded, 10 And when the sky is torn away, 11 hell is made to blaze, 12 and Paradise brought nigh: 13 (Then) every person will know what he has brought (of good and evil). 14 So verily, I swear by the planets that recede (i.e. disappear during the day and appear during the night). 15 Moving swiftly and hiding themselves, 16 And by the night as it departs; 17 And the breath of morning 18 Most surely it is the Word of an honored messenger, 19 having power, with the Lord of the Throne secure, 20 obeyed by (all creatures) and faithful to His trust. 21 And your companion is not [at all] mad. 22 And without doubt he saw him in the clear horizon. 23 He (Muhammad) is not accused of lying about the unseen. 24 Nor is this the utterance of a devil worthy to be stoned. 25 Whither then go ye? 26 Verily, this (the Quran) is no less than a Reminder to (all) the 'Alamin (mankind and jinns). 27 for whosoever of you would go straight, 28 And you do not will except that Allah wills - Lord of the worlds. 29
