Verily this is a Revelation from the Lord of the Worlds: 192 Which the trustworthy Ruh [Jibrael (Gabriel)] has brought down; 193 into your heart, so that you may be a warner, 194 In plain Arabic speech. 195 And most surely the same is in the scriptures of the ancients. 196 Is not the fact (that the Israelite scholars already knew about the Quran through their Book) sufficient evidence for the pagans of the truthfulness (of the Quran)? 197 If We had sent it down on a barbarian 198 And he had recited it to them, and they had not believed. 199 Thus it passes through the hearts of the criminals. 200 They will not believe in it until they see the painful punishment. 201 It will come upon them unawares, and they will not comprehend it. 202 Then they will say: are we to be respited? 203 Do they really want Our chastisement to be expedited? 204 Do you not see that even if We give them respite for years 205 and then Our torment will strike them, 206 That which they were made to enjoy shall not avail them? 207 And We destroyed no township but it had its warners 208 We have never been unjust to anyone. 209 And it is not the Shayatin (devils) who have brought it (this Quran) down, 210 They are unworthy of it, nor can they do it. 211 Indeed they, from [its] hearing, are removed. 212 Hence, [O man,] do not invoke any other deity side by side with God, lest thou find thyself among those who are made to suffer [on Judgment Day]. 213 And warn thou thy clan, the nearest ones. 214 and be kind to your believing followers. 215 Then if they disobey thee, say: "I am free (of responsibility) for what ye do!" 216 And put your trust in the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful, 217 Who sees you (O Muhammad SAW) when you stand up (alone at night for Tahajjud prayers). 218 And your turning over and over among those who prostrate themselves before Allah. 219 He is all-hearing and all-knowing. 220 Shall I tell you upon whom the devils descend? 221 They come down to every mendacious sinner, 222 The satans try to listen to the heavens but many of them are liars. 223 As for the poets, only those who go astray follow them. 224 See you not that they speak about every subject (praising others right or wrong) in their poetry? 225 and how they say that which they do not? 226 except those who believed and acted righteously and remembered Allah much, and when they themselves were subjected to wrong, they exacted retribution no more than to the extent of the wrong? Soon will the wrong-doers know the end that they shall reach. 227
