And Harun (Aaron) indeed had said to them beforehand: "O my people! You are being tried in this, and verily, your Lord is (Allah) the Most Beneficent, so follow me and obey my order." 90 They replied: 'We will not stop; we will cling to it until Moses returns to us.' 91 Moses said, 'What prevented thee, Aaron, when thou sawest them in error, 92 From coming after me? Did you not disobey my command?" (And Moses pulled him by the hair). 93 Aaron answered: "Son of my mother! Do not seize me with my beard, nor by (the hair of) my head. I feared that on returning you might say: 'You sowed discord among the Children of Israel, and did not pay heed to my words.'" 94 Moses asked, "Samiri, what were your motives?" 95 He answered: "I saw what the people did not see. So I took a handful of dust from the trail of the Messenger, and I flung it (into the fire). Thus did my mind prompt me." 96 [Moses] said, "Then go. And indeed, it is [decreed] for you in [this] life to say, 'No contact.' And indeed, you have an appointment [in the Hereafter] you will not fail to keep. And look at your 'god' to which you remained devoted. We will surely burn it and blow it into the sea with a blast. 97 Your god is only God. There is no other god but He. His knowledge extends over everything." 98 Thus do We relate to you (some) of the news of what has gone before; and indeed We have given to you a Reminder from Ourselves. 99 All who shall turn away from it will, verily, bear a [heavy] burden on the Day of Resurrection: 100 As abiders therein. And vile will it be for them on the Day of Judgment as a load! 101 The day the trumpet blast is sounded We shall raise the sinners blind, 102 Whispering to one another: "You have tarried but ten days." 103 We know well what they will say. The most just among them in the matter will declare: 'You have stayed away but one day' 104
