The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the rangers ranging 1 and the scarers scaring 2 By those (angels) who bring the Book and the Quran from Allah to mankind [Tafsir Ibn Kathir]. 3 Verily, most surely, your God is One 4 the Lord of the heavens and the earth and of all that is between them; the Lord of the Easts. 5 Indeed, We have adorned the nearest heaven with an adornment of stars 6 And as protection against every rebellious devil 7 So that they are not able to listen to the angels of higher (echelons), and are pelted from all sides 8 They are rejected and theirs is an everlasting punishment; 9 Except him who snatcheth away a word by stealth, and him then pursueth a glowing flame. 10 Just ask their opinion: are they the more difficult to create, or the (other) beings We have created? Them have We created out of a sticky clay! 11 Yet while you are filled with wonder, they just scoff; 12 And when they are admonished, they receive not admonition. 13 When they are shown a sign, they scoff at it 14 and say: “This is nothing but plain sorcery. 15 They say, "Shall we be brought to life again after we die and turn into dust and bones? 16 What, and our fathers, the ancients?' 17 Say (O Muhammad): Ye, in truth; and ye will be brought low. 18 It will be a single Zajrah [shout (i.e. the second blowing of the Trumpet)], and behold, they will be staring! 19 They will say, "Ah! Woe to us! This is the Day of Judgment!" 20 "(Yes,) this is the Day of Judgement you had called a lie." 21
