I say the truth, and call the moon to witness, 32 And the night when it withdraweth 33 And the daybreak when it shines; 34 Verily, that [hell-fire] is Indeed one of the great [forewarnings] 35 It is a warning for mankind 36 alike to every one of you, who want to go forward or hang back. 37 Every soul will be (held) in pledge for its deeds. 38 Except those on the Right, (i.e. the pious true believers of Islamic Monotheism); 39 [Who will be] in gardens, questioning each other 40 Of evil-doers: 41 [And asking them], "What put you into Saqar?" 42 They will reply, "We did not pray, 43 and neither did we feed the needy; 44 and we were wont to indulge in sinning together with all [the others] who indulged in it; 45 "And we used to belie the Day of Recompense 46 until there came to us the certainty. 47 The mediation of no mediators will avail them then. 48 What is the matter with them that they turn away from this Reminder, 49 As if they were frightened (wild) donkeys. 50 Fleeing from a lion? 51 Yea, everyone of them claims that he [himself] ought to have been given revelations unfolded! 52 By no means! But they fear not the Hereafter, 53 Nay; this is an Exhortation. 54 So whosoever will (let him read it), and receive admonition (from it)! 55 they will only take heed if God so wills: He is the Lord who is worthy to be feared: the Lord of forgiveness. 56
