The News (Al-Naba')
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej) before The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ What are they asking (one another)? 1 Of the mighty Announcement, 2 Regarding which they hold different views. 3 By no means! anon they shall know. 4 Nay, again, but they will come to know! 5 Have We not spread the earth like a bed, 6 And the mountains as pegs? 7 We created you in pairs, 8 and We made your sleep a rest, 9 and made the night a covering, 10 and made the day to seek livelihood, 11 And We have built above you seven strong ones, 12 (the sun) as a shining torch 13 And from the wind-driven clouds We send down waters pouring in abundance, 14 that We may bring forth thereby grain and plants, 15 and gardens dense with foliage. 16 Verily the Day of Decision is a time appointed. 17 the Day that the Horn is blown, and you shall come in crowds 18 And the heavens shall be opened as if there were doors, 19 and when the mountains are made to vanish as if they had been a mirage. 20 Indeed, Gehenna (Hell) has become an ambush, 21 A dwelling place for the Taghun (those who transgress the boundry limits set by Allah like polytheists, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah, hyprocrites, sinners, criminals, etc.), 22 there, they shall live for ages, 23 Nothing cool shall they taste therein, nor any drink, 24 only burning despair and ice-cold darkness: 25 Requital corresponding. 26 Indeed they had no fear of the account. 27 And rejected Our signs as lies. 28 And We have kept recorded everything in a Book, accounted for. 29 So taste (of that which ye have earned). No increase do We give you save of torment. 30

Notes and Instructions
When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
