Al-Infitaar
Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ When the heaven is cleft asunder. 1 the stars are dispersed, 2 And when the seas are burst forth (got dried up); 3 and the graves are turned inside out, 4 A soul will know what it hath sent before (it) and what left behind. 5 O MAN! What is it that lures thee away from thy bountiful Sustainer, 6 The One Who created you, then moulded you, then made you proper? 7 In whatever shape He will He could surely have fashioned you. 8 No indeed; (the fact is that) you deny the Reckoning, declaring it a lie; 9 yet there are over you watchers 10 noble scribes, 11 They know whatsoever ye do. 12 Lo! the righteous verily will be in delight. 13 And verily, the Fujjar (the wicked, disbelievers, sinners and evil-doers) will be in the blazing Fire (Hell), 14 They will burn therein on the Day of Judgment, 15 And never therefrom will they be absent. 16 What will make you realize what the Day of Judgement will be? 17 Again, what will make you know what the Day of Recompense is? 18 (It will be) the Day when no person shall have power (to do) anything for another, and the Decision, that Day, will be (wholly) with Allah. 19
