Said the chieftains of Firaun’s people, “He is really an expert magician.” 109 "He wishes to drive you away from the land. So what do you advise?" 110 They said, “Stop him and his brother, and send announcers to the cities to gather people.” 111 to summon every skilful magician to your presence.' 112 And so the sorcerers came to Fir'aun (Pharaoh). They said: "Indeed there will be a (good) reward for us if we are the victors." 113 He said: Yes, and you shall certainly be of those who are near (to me). 114 They said: O Musa! will you cast, or shall we be the first to cast? 115 He said, 'You cast.' And when they cast they put a Spell upon the people's eyes, and called forth fear of them, and produced a mighty sorcery. 116 Then We inspired Moses, saying, "Throw down your staff." And it immediately swallowed up their false devices. 117 ۞ So the truth was established, and abolished was what they were doing. 118 Thus there and then they were vanquished and overthrown, humiliated. 119 And the magicians were obliged to fall prostrate. 120 saying, "We declare our belief in the Lord of the Universe, 121 "The Lord of Moses and Aaron." 122 The Pharaoh said to the magicians, "You declared your belief in him (Moses) without my permission. This is a plot to throw my people out of their city. But you will soon know. 123 I will cut off on opposite sides a hand and a foot, and then crucify you all' 124 The magicians said, "We will certainly return to Our Lord. 125 And you do not take revenge on us except because we have believed in the communications of our Lord when they came to us! Our Lord: Pour out upon us patience and cause us to die in submission. 126
