Hizb 46
< random >
And Jonah too was one of the Messengers. 139 When he ran to the laden ship, 140 And then they cast lots and he was the one who lost, 141 The fish then swallowed him and he blamed himself. (For not waiting for Allah’s command.) 142 And had he not been one of those who glorify (Allah) 143 he would certainly have remained inside the fish until the Day of Resurrection. 144 ۞ Then We cast him on a desert shore while he was sick; 145 And We caused a tree of gourd to grow above him; 146 Then We sent him unto a hundred thousand, or more, 147 and they believed; so We gave them enjoyment for a while. 148 Now ask them whether your Lord has daughters, whereas they have sons. 149 Or did We create the angels females while they were witnesses? 150 Lo! verily it is of their falsehood that they say: 151 "God has begotten (children)?" They are liars indeed! 152 Has He chosen daughters above sons? 153 What is the matter with you? How judge ye? 154 Will ye not then reflect? 155 Or, do you have a clear authority? 156 Then bring your book, if ye say sooth. 157 They have established a kinship between Allah and the angels; and the angels know well that these people will be arraigned (as culprits). 158 God is too glorious for what they ascribe to Him 159 except for God's sincere servants. 160 neither you nor what you worship 161 cannot mislead anyone 162 unless it be such as rushes towards the blazing fire [of his own accord]! 163 The angels say, "Each of us has an appointed place. 164 We are surely those who are arranged in ranks. 165 and we are of those who glorify Allah.” 166 They say, 167 'If only we had had a Reminder from the ancients, 168 Surely we would have been the bondmen of God sincere. 169 But (now that the Qur'an has come), they reject it: But soon will they know! 170 for, long ago has Our word gone forth unto Our servants, the message-bearers, 171 [That] indeed, they would be those given victory 172 and that Our hosts shall triumph. 173 So you ignore them for a time 174 And watch them, for they will soon see. 175 Do they, then, [really] wish that Our chastisement be hastened on? 176 But when it descends into the open space before them, evil will be the morning for those who were warned (and heeded not)! 177 So turn thou from them for a while, 178 and watch. They, too, will watch. 179 Exalted be your Lord, the Lord of Glory, above what they attribute to Him, 180 And peace upon the messengers. 181 And all praise unto Allah the Lord of the worlds. 182
Almighty God's Truth.
