The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
I swear by the angels who violently pull out the souls of the wicked, 1 and those that draw out violently, 2 And who glide with ease. 3 Then those who are foremost going ahead, 4 by the managers (angels) affair. 5 The day the convulsive (first blast) shatters convulsively 6 What must happen afterwards shall follow it. 7 Hearts that Day will be in agitation; 8 and their eyes shall be downcast with dread. 9 They say, "What? shall we be brought back to life, 10 “When we have become decayed bones?” 11 [And] they add, "That, then, would be a return with loss!" 12 But only, it will be a single Zajrah [shout (i.e., the second blowing of the Trumpet)]. (See Verse 37:19). 13 When, behold, they find themselves over the earth alive after their death, 14 Has the story of Moses reached thee? 15 How his Lord called him in the holy vale of Tuwa, 16 saying 'Go to Pharaoh, he has become exceedingly insolent, 17 and say, 'Will you reform yourself? 18 Do you want me to guide you to your Lord, so that you should fear Him?'" 19 And thereupon he [went to Pharaoh and] made him aware of the great wonder [of God's grace]. 20 But [Fir'aun (Pharaoh)] belied and disobeyed; 21 Then he turned away, deliberating, 22 Then he collected (his men) and made a proclamation, 23 Yet to a rich man, 24 So Allah seized him (and made him) an example for the after (life) and for the former. 25 Surely in that is a lesson for him who fears! 26
